Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and known as “The Maker of Champions”, Andre “Dedeco” Almeida is a keystone of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in New England. He began his Jiu-Jitsu career in 1986 and is a Black Belt under pioneers Ricardo De La Riva and Ricardo Liborio. For nearly two decades, Dedeco honed his craft to win titles in Brazil. Still, his passion for Jiu-Jitsu extends well beyond his own accolades. In 1996 he formed his own school and association, developing a World-Class stable of competitors, Mixed Martial Arts athletes and students across all ages and backgrounds interested in learning the Art of BJJ. Dedeco used his years of high-level teaching and competing in Brazil to eventually lead to a new journey in life. In 2004, he moved to America, opening Dedeco Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. For the 20+ years since starting his new journey, Dedeco has continued to win competitions – but more importantly – has built a special Jiu-Jitsu community in Weymouth and Pembroke. His years in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Brazil and America have helped form an expert in the art and how to help people become the best versions of themselves.

Dedeco is teaching, training, and involved at the school every day along with his wife and two children. The family aspect has never been more apparent than when you meet his family. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dedeco started Jiu-Jitsu at an early age under renowned pillars of the Jiu-Jitsu world. Dedeco can easily trace his lineage directly back to source and beginning of the entire Jiu-Jitsu martial art.
He established a premiere team and school in Brazil but decided to push his limits and challenge himself and move to America. Since arriving in 2004 Dedeco, has established a prestigious name and created a dominant team with affiliate schools in multiple states as well as overseas.
While not only bringing his traditional Jiu-Jitsu expertise to the United States, he is also the co-founder of Origin USA. With a focus on American made products, Origin USA has revolutionized the gi business and is now an industry leader.
